Pillow Talk: A Design Scene Power Couple Builds Their Dream Country Home
Interior Designer Katie Ridder and architect Peter Pennoyer, whom 1st dibs called ‘a power couple in the New York design scene,’ come from different ends of the aesthetic scale, and yet in their work together they have found unexpected inspiration in their singular approaches to design. Join them, and acclaimed author and design expert Susanna Salk, for a lively conversation as they open the doors to various inspiring projects from around the country and take you on a tour of their own exuberant country house, a personal collaboration that leads to a rich, coherent and colorful design—with some surprising results. There is nothing more revealing than someone’s own home, and in this talk you will experience the behind-the-curtain anecdotes and stories that reveal how a house really comes together, and how this charming couple achieved true aesthetic harmony.

Katie Ridder
Interior designer Katie Ridder has been recognized as a top industry leader, named among Elle Décor’s A-List and House Beautiful and New York magazine's "Top 100" designer lists. Known for her successful wallpaper and fabric lines, Katie’s work has been featured by Architectural Digest, Town & Country and The New York Times––to name a few.

Peter Pennoyer
Peter Pennoyer is the founding partner of Peter Pennoyer Architects, the New York-based architecture and design firm. He is a member of Architectural Digest’s AD100 as well as the coauthor of five books on early twentieth-century American architectural practices. He is also the author of A House in the Country, written with his wife, interior designer Katie Ridder. In addition to his acclaimed work, he is an adjunct professor in the department of Architecture and Urban Studies at New York University.

Susanna Salk
Susanna Salk is a designer, stylist, stager and author of multiple best-selling design books––including her recent release The Power of Pattern: Interiors and Inspiration: A Resource Guide. In addition to her celebrated written works, Susanna hosts a monthly “At Home With” video series on the popular interior design blog Quintessence.
