Gil Schafer III is one of the world’s leading experts on contemporary classical architecture. A member of Architectural Digest’s AD 100 and a winner of Veranda’s “Art of Design Award,” Schafer is a member of the Yale School of Architecture Dean’s Council, a trustee of the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, and served as president and then chairman of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art for over a decade. He holds a Masters of Architecture from the Yale School of Architecture and is the author of the bestselling book The Great American House and the newly released A Place to Call Home. Schafer’s work has been featured in numerous national and international publications, including Architectural Digest, Elle Décor, Veranda, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal. When he’s not traveling for work, Schafer divides his time between New York City, upstate New York, and Maine.

Rita Konig has worked as an interior designer and journalist for the past 15 years both in London, where her design studio is based, and in the U.S. where she lived from 2006 - 2012. Her current U.S. projects include a private members club and hotel in Los Angeles, CA, a family home in Nashville with architect Gil Schafer, and U.K.-based projects in both London and the English countryside. Alongside her client work, Rita has recently launched “Rita Says”, an online interiors destination designed to make decorating easier for those who want to do it themselves. Edited by Rita, it’s packed full of the suppliers and products that she regularly uses for her own projects, as well as sage advice for everything from gardening to entertaining. Rita also runs monthly interior design workshops at her home and writes a regular column for British House and Gardens. Previously, she has also written columns for Harper’s Bazaar U.S., WSJ Magazine, T Magazine, British Vogue and Domino.
