The mission of the Nashville Shakespeare Festival is to educate and entertain the Mid-South community through professional Shakespearean experiences. The Festival employs Nashville's most talented theatre artists to create unique and relevant productions and programs that stimulate the minds and enrich the lives of students and adults throughout Middle Tennessee.

Since 1988, The Festival has produced its Annual Free Shakespeare in the Park every summer in Centennial Park. Since 1992, The Festival has offered year-round outreach to schools and the community through in-classroom workshops, performances for students and experiences for young actors. Since 2008, The Festival has performed its Annual Winter Shakespeare Production at the Troutt Theater, offering both public performances and student matinees. In 2018, Winter Shakespeare will also be offered for one week in Murfreesboro at MTSU’s Tucker Theatre.

General Admission - $10 Suggested Donation at entry
Royal Package - $75 Purchase tickets in advance. Limited on-site availability starting at 6:00pm.

Winter Shakespeare:
Discounts for advance purchase online.
Box Office opens 1 hour before show time.

Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Cash and Check for tickets or donations.

Shakespeare in the Park:
6:00 Food vendors open
6:00 “Talking Shakespeare” featuring Shakespeare scholars from local universities
6:30 Pre-show Entertainment featuring live Nashville musicians and entertainers
7:30 Performance

Winter Shakespeare:
Auditorium doors open 30 minutes before show time.

Venue Information

Pop Upright Shakespeare (March 24 - November 17):
These performances will take place in non-traditional venues around Nashville. After you buy a ticket, the location will be sent to you via text and email 24 hours before the performance.

Shakespeare in the Park (August 9 – September 9):
Centennial Park Bandshell
Centennial Park
2600 West End Ave
Nashville, TN, 37203

From I-440, take West End Avenue going east (towards downtown)
Travel 1 mile, and Centennial Park will be on the left.
Venue is on the east side of the park across from Centennial Sportsplex (25th Ave).

Winter Shakespeare (January):
Troutt Theater
Belmont University
2112 Belmont Blvd.
Nashville, TN 37212

From I-440, take Exit 3 for 21st Avenue
Merge onto 21st Avenue and continue 0.4 mile.
Turn RIGHT onto Blair Blvd. and continue 0.4 mile.
Turn LEFT onto Belmont Blvd. and continue 500ft.

Shakespeare in the Park:
Park in any designated parking area in Centennial Park or on surrounding streets.

Winter Shakespeare:
Free parking available in the lot behind the theater or on the street.
Royal Package parking directly in front of the theater.
