A Team Lightning supported event

East Nashville Bike Party is literally ready to ROCK and ROLL (on two wheels) each month! These slowrides start at the Shelby Bottoms Dog Park and venture through a different part of town, stopping along the way at landmarks and restaurants or breweries. We are all here to have a good time, ride our bikes, and show the Nashville Community how fun it is to be a cyclist.

Love your bike. Love your city. Share the road. Don't have bike? Arrive early to check out a Nashville B-cycle. There is a station at the corner of Parthenon Field. Download the Bcycle App to make sure bikes are available at that location, or find a different nearby location to rent a bike from!

When: Friday, March 16th, roll out at 7:15pm.
Where: Shelby Bottoms Dog Park
Shelby Ave. & S. 20th Street
Nashville, TN 37206
Cost: FREE event, open to the public, RSVP HERE!

Difficulty: This is a fun social ride. Participants should expect to ride 5-8 miles at a 6-10 mph beginner-friendly, no-drop pace.
Registration Deadline: This is a show and go event
Group Size Limit: No limit!

Children Policy: This is an 18 and up event (Some end-point venues are 21 and up)
Dog Policy: Dogs not permitted on these rides (unless they're in a trailer or in an enclosed basket)

East Nashville Bike Party is a group of cyclists who love their bikes, love their city, and want to foster a positive experience on the road. All riders should have proper front and rear lights on their bikes and follow the rules of the road.

Remember the Three R's:

  1. Ride! We stay together as a group and follow a pre-determined route through the city.  The wheels hit the road at 7:15pm.  We usually ride until 9:00pm with 1 or 2 stops along the way. The ride is a slow pace (6-10mph) designed to keep everyone of all biking abilities together.
  2. Respect! Respect other traffic around you.  If cyclists want equal rights on the road, and we want drivers to respect us, we have to respect them.  When possible, allow drivers to pass in the left lane.  Stop at red lights. Use hand signals. Watch out for pedestrians and fellow bikers.  We want to stay together and stay positive.  One of our goals is to build a positive bond between cyclists and other citizens of Nashville.
  3. Revelry! We are all here to have a good time.  Have a friend with a bike?  Bring them along! Don’t have any friends?  Come make some!  Oh, and be bold... wear a costume! Each ride has a theme, and about 30% of our riders dress up for the occasion!

Be sure to follow these 5 simple rules to stay safe:

  1. Stay out of oncoming traffic lanes
  2. The front stops at red lights (really, stop at yellow to be safe!)
  3. Roll past confrontation
  4. Ride Straight, Ride Predictably
  5. Leave no one behind

Visibility is key. Be sure to have a front (white) and back (red) light attached to your bike. Bring spare tubes and bike tools in case of a flat tire. If you hear a car approaching, shout "CAR BACK" so others know to get over (they can't give us 3 feet if we don't give them 3 feet to work with!). Use hand signals so vehicles and other riders know where you're going.

The routes usually end at a restaurant or bar, about 2 miles from the Parthenon, so make sure you have a safe way to get back to your car. Are you drinking at the after party? Of course you are! Be prepared. Call a friend for a ride, or hop on the MTA bus (equipt with bike racks!). Cyclists can get DUIs too.
