Engage Green is our monthly sustainability event series in partnership with Urban Green Lab, a non-profit organization that provides hands-on educational experiences dedicated to sustainable living. Each month, join us for a unique discussion that highlights the organizations, businesses and government agencies that are setting the trends to make sustainable practices a more affordable and convenient part of your own life. Engage Green events typically consist of a one-hour presentation or demonstration at various locations, often with a hands-on component.

Green Bag Lady is an eco-friendly art project started by artist Teresa VanHatten-Granath in 2008. Teresa and her international teams of volunteer “Bagettes” make bags out of donated fabric and give them away for FREE in exchange for the promise to refuse paper + plastic when shopping. The world-wide use of these bags is documented on their website. Join us! Let’s change the world…one bag at a time.

Turnip Green Creative Reuse has 4 areas of service: a retail donate what you wish ($) store, education/outreach, artist support, and a green gallery. It provides a welcoming and neutral place for artists, educators, and any creative person to connect. Turnip Green holds a high priority to serve the art community as well as work with children in the Nashville community, bringing them ways to create from what they see going in the trash everyday.

Urban Green Lab is Nashville's first hub for sustainable living. The non-profit group offers hands-on educational workshops that focus on sustainable living practices such as urban gardening, home weatherization, energy efficiency and water conservation. This first-of-its-kind-in-Nashville organization is designed to "bridge the gap" between thinking and doing and, in the process, move sustainability from concept to daily reality for an increasing number of citizens.

Urban Green Lab is Team Green Adventure's official Engage Green Workshop Series partner and workshop co-host. They have been insturmental in providing expertise and guidance on a range of sustainability topics, and play a key role in connecting Nashville residents with information on local sustainability issues.
