EVENT DETAILS

Ready to take your backpacking experience to the next level? Join Team Lightning for an Easter weekend on the trail! This Intermediate trip will follow a loop from the Bandy Creek Visitor Center north and east through beautiful forest to our first campsite at Station Landing. We then follow the river bluffs south to Angel Falls for our second campsite, with stunning views of the Cumberland River Valley.
 
When: Friday - Sunday, March 30th - April 1st, 2018 at 7:00 am (Carpool), 11:00 am (Trailhead)
Where: Big South Fork National River and Scenic Area - Bandy Creek visitor center
Carpool information will be provided in your confirmation email
Cost: Free event. Registration required.

Trip Leader: Jerud Colbert

Difficulty: This is an intermediate backpacking trip due to distance and elevation change.
Group Limit: Limited to 8 participants plus 2 trip leaders
Parking: There is free parking available in the trailhead parking lot

POLICIES

Children Policy: This trip is limited to participants 18 years and up who can handle the mileage and terrain.
Dog Policy: Friendly dogs on leashes with prior hiking experience are welcome.
Weather Policy: This trip is drizzle or shine. In the event of severe weather, this trip may be postponed or cancelled.

TRAIL STATS

Drive time to Trailhead: About 2.5 hours
Hike Distance: Approx. 23.3 miles total (8.2 Fri, 9.9 Sat and 5.2 Sun). This is a loop hike, with no shuttle.
Estimated Hike Time: 6 hours on Friday and Saturday, 3 hours on Sunday.
