City Cycling 101: Safe City Riding is a classroom course designed to help you brush up on your bike riding knowledge and skills.

Topics will include:

  • Fix-a-flat Demonstration
  • The Bike: Overview of Bike Terms and Types of Bikes
  • Rules and Laws of the Road
  • Most common bike crashes and how to avoid them
  • Tackling tricky roads by bicycle
  • Basic Maintenance Check

This course is hosted by Walk Bike Nashville and will help prepare you for riding in the road and for Walk Bike Nashville's City Cycling 201 course.

City Cycling 201 is an on-road course that will take participants on a 4-mile ride around the neighborhood. It will take place immediately following this course. Attendance at both courses is NOT required, but encouraged! Sign up for City Cycling 201 here.

This class is free and open to the public, regardless of bike riding ability. This is an indoor class and no materials are required. Please make sure to arrive 5-10 minutes early as the fix-a-flat demonstration will start promptly at 9am.
