As the Vanderbilt University campus grows and develops, increasing emphasis is placed on ensuring that growth is managed in a sustainable way. Many of the new buildings on campus are LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified, and many historic campus facilities are being renovated to become more environmentally friendly as well. We'll take a tour of several campus buildings, including the recently renovated Alumni Hall and the natural gas power plant, which was recently converted from a coal-fired plant within the last year. Campus sustainability officials and campus architects will be on-hand to lead the tour and answer any questions you might have about Vanderbilt's sustainability initiatives!

Meet at the Vanderbilt Central Library at 6pm!

Urban Green Lab is Nashville's first hub for sustainable living. The non-profit group offers hands-on educational workshops that focus on sustainable living practices such as urban gardening, home weatherization, energy efficiency and water conservation. This first-of-its-kind-in-Nashville organization is designed to "bridge the gap" between thinking and doing and, in the process, move sustainability from concept to daily reality for an increasing number of citizens.

Urban Green Lab is Team Green Adventure's official Engage Green Workshop Series partner and workshop co-host. They have been insturmental in providing expertise and guidance on a range of sustainability topics, and play a key role in connecting Nashville residents with information on local sustainability issues.
