Your Adventure Starts Here!

Only seven miles 45 minutes west of downtown Nashville, Montgomery Bell State Park was once the center of iron industry in Middle Tennessee. Now the park features campgrounds, hiking trails, three lakes for paddling, miles of paved road for cycling, mountain bike trails, and a conference center. The site of the first Presbyterian Church in Middle Tennessee was also built on this site in 1810, and will be the starting point for our Beginner-Intermediate loop day hike!

When: Saturday, June 13th at 8am (trailhead)
Where: Montgomery Bell State Park
Burns, TN
Cost: FREE event. Registration required.

Trip Leader: Matt Lowe

Difficulty: This is a beginner-intermediate loop trail. The entire loop is 10.4 miles, but overall the route is fairly flat. This trail will take approximately 4-5 hours to complete, depending on the ability level of the group.
Registration Deadline: Online registration closes Wednesday, June 11th at 3pm
Group Size Limit: This event is limited to 15 participants

Children Policy: Open to ages 15 and up with parental supervision

We'll plan to meet at a designated location in the park (details are in the confirmation email), and hike the 10.4 mile "Overnight Trail." This trail traces the boarder of the park and features scenic views of Creech Holow Lake and Lake Woodhaven, while also meandering past the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and two overnight shelters. After a quick meet & greet, followed by some safe hiking tips, we'll head out on the trail. Participants should expect a 4-5 hour day of hiking, including rest stops, photo ops, and lunch break. Participants should plan to pack their own lunch.

Want to make an entire day at the park? Bring your boat, fishing poles, or bike and enjoy other great activities in the afternoon!

This event is open to both Team Green members and non-members. Registration is required for this event. A confirmation email will be sent immediately upon registration with meeting details and driving directions.
