Dog Policy: Dogs not permitted at this event
Weather Policy: This event if there is heavy rain during or 30 minutes prior the event, in case of slippery road conditions. Though Team Green Adventures may official cancel the event, participants are still welcome to rent B-cycles and go for a ride in the rain.

ABOUT THE URBAN BIKE RIDE

Meet up at the Cumberland Park B-station prior to 1pm for a beginner-friendly, kid-friendly 5.5 mile bike ride. We'll ride at an easy 6-8 mph pace. The event will take approximately an hour and a half including a quick bike safety discussion and one hour bike ride.

If you have your own non-motorized bicycle, bring it! If you plan to rent a B-cycle, please reserve a spot at the bottom of this page.

Here are a few tips about the ride:

  • Participants who pre-reserve a B-cycle will have a B-cycle bike held for you until 1pm. We cannot hold bikes after 1pm.
There are a total of 15 rentable B-cycles at the Cumberland Park B-station. The cost to rent is $5, to be paid at the B-station Kiosk upon arrival (credit/debit).
  • If you check out your B-cycle before the Safety Discussion, be sure to check it in and check it back out (for free) before we roll out, so you'll have a full 60 minutes to enjoy the ride!
  • Helmets are strongly encouraged, or a Helmet Waiver will need to be signed prior to riding. Particpiants must provide their own helmets; a helmet cannot be provided for you.
  • TN State Law requires all riders under the age of 16 to wear a helmet.
  • We will be using hand signals and voice commands during the ride (for example "Car Back!" to announce to the group that a car is coming up behind us, or "Passing on your Left!" if you need to pass a pedestrian or another cyclist).
  • Always ride as far to the Right as possible, except when passing debri on the side of the road.
  • Ride no more then two side-by-side when the path is clear, and ride single file to allow vehicles to pass.

Team Green Adventures and Lightning 100 are proud partners of Nashville B-cycle! Check out the Rolling Mill Hill and Hillsboro Village Stations, or pick the "Lightning 100's Team Green Adventures" B-cycle bike if you see one at your nearby B-station!

ABOUT NASHVILLE B-CYCLE

Launched in December 2012, Nashville B-cycle is a fee-based bike-SHARE initiative, operated by the Nashville Downtown Partnership, a nonprofit management organization. Nashville B-cycle annual members can log into their online account to track their mileage and calories burned, as well as the carbon offset of each trip! Using these measurements, Nashville B-cycle demonstrates the health and environmental benefits of bike-sharing in the community. With adjustable seat posts, a basket to stow belongings, automatic lights, three speeds, and gear to keep clothes clean, these bikes are perfect for everyone to use, for a variety of commuting needs!

Nashville has 21 B-stations (with more to come!) dispersed throughout Music City. Lunch dates, shopping trips, meetings, or a quick ride for fresh air can now be accomplished with no emissions, no gas, no traffic, and no hassle. After all, what better alternative fuel, than you?

How It Works
B-Cycle bikes can be rented using a 24 Hour, 7 Day, 30 Day or Annual pass. B-cycle is a "SHARE" program, so each bike needs to be returned to a B-station within 60 minutes. But don't worry! If you aren't done with your ride, you can check in your bike, and check out another bike right away, for FREE! Your 24 Hour, 7 Day, 30 Day, or Annual pass gives you UNLIMITED 60-minute check-outs anytime between 5am-10pm.

Warning: If your bike is checked out for more than 60-minutes, you'll be charged an extra $1.50 per half hour, so be sure to plan a route that goes by other B-stations!

Don't get stuck returning your bike to a full station. Download the B-cycle iPhone App to see which B-stations nearby have available bikes, and open docks!

HUNGER ACTION MONTH

September is Hunger Action month. Did you know that 1 in 6 adults and 1 in 4 children in Middle Tennessee suffer with hunger? These people are your neighbors, co-workers, friends at your kid's school... they are people you see every day and never suspect that they are struggling. Hunger Action month is all about creating awareness and grasping that this is a reality for some of the people we care about. Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee has made it their daily mission to fight hunger in our community. Donate your time, your food, or your money to help make an impact!

REGISTRATION

Pre-reserve your B-cycle, or RSVP to bring your own bike, to ensure that route or weather related updates are emailed to you prior to the ride. Pre-reserved B-cycle participantes will be entered into a drawing for two FREE B-cycle Day Pass for your next ride this fall!
