course is designed to give you the skills and confidence to ride in
your neighborhood and on a variety of types of road. Each course is
taught by League Certified Bicycle Instructors and includes on-bike
parking lot drills and a 4-5 mile ride with the group.
Skills covered include:
- Bike maneuvering skills
- Where to ride in the road
- Scanning and signaling
- Right and left turns
- Crash avoidance
If you love riding a bike but
aren't comfortable yet riding on the streets or are looking for tips on
how to safely navigate Nashville's streets this is the course for you!
This is an intermediate course.
Experience riding a bike is required for this course. Registrants should
be able to ride a bicycle, ride in a straight line, turn left and
right, and stop and start smoothly.
City Cycling 101 is an indoor
course that will cover the rules of the road as an intro to this on-bike
course. It will take place immediately before this course. Attendance
at both courses is NOT required, but encouraged! Sign up for City
Cycling 101 here!
All participants in the course are responsible for bringing their own functioning bicycle and helmet.
