ABOUT THE TRAIL

Length: Approximately 25-30 miles total (over 3 days)
Day One: 10 Miles
Day Two: 10 Miles
Day Three: 6 miles

We will start our trip with a 2,000 ft elevation gain up Big Frog Mountain and hike a total of 10 miles to camp along the Jacks River. Over the next two days we will follow the 16 mile Jacks River Trail which crosses the river 42 times with an average of 2 to 3 creek crossing per mile along the river. Participants must wear appropriate shoes for water crossings (bring extra shoes, or wear aqua hiking shoes)  Full leather boots are not recommended footwear and trekking poles are highly recommended. Plan to wear trail running shoes or water shoes with toe protection that are comfortable enough to wear over long distances and will not leave you with blisters. Have a pair of dry camp shoes for night. Participants should line the inside of their backpacks with a large trash bag in case of higher than expected river crossings.
