Ready to take your backpacking experience to the next level? Join Team Green Adventures for an Easter weekend on the trail! This Intermediate trip will follow the Sheltowee Trace Trail, named after Daniel Boone’s Indian-given name from the Bandy Creek visitor center north to the Charit Creek lodge, before intersecting with the John Muir Trail, a stunning overlook of Angel Falls, and then a reconnect with the Sheltowee Trace Trail.
When: April 14th - 16th, at 7:00 am (Carpool), 11:00 am (Trailhead)
Where: Big South Fork National River and Scenic Area - Bandy Creek visitor center

Cost: FREE for Members, $5 for Non-Members. Registration required.

Difficulty: This is an intermediate backpacking trip due to distance and elevation change.
Registration Deadline: Wednesday, April 12th 3:00pm, while spots are available
Group Limit: Limited to 6 participants plus 2 trip leaders
Parking: There is free parking available in the trailhead parking lot
Children Policy: This trip is limited to participants 18 years and up who can handle the mileage and terrain.
Dog Policy: Friendly dogs on leashes with prior hiking experience are welcome.
Weather Policy: This trip is drizzle or shine. In the event of severe weather, this trip may be postponed or cancelled.

Drive time to Trailhead: About 2.5 hours
Hike Distance: Approx. 23.3 miles total (8.2 Fri, 9.9 Sat and 5.2 Sun). This is a loop hike, with no shuttle.
Estimated Hike Time: 6 hours on Friday and Saturday, 3 hours on Sunday.Ready to take your backpacking experience to the next level? This is a great trip with the added challenge of colder temperatures, and more strenuous terrain!
