ABOUT LE CONTE LODGE

Back of the lodge

Located atop the third highest peak of the half million acre Great Smoky Mountains, LeConte Lodge offers complete seclusion from hussle and bustle of every day life. When the movement to establish a national park in the Smokys was in full sway, a tent camp was erected ,where LeConte Lodge now stands, to entertain visiting dignitaries from Washington. Although LeConte Lodge is now under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service, it predates the establishment of the park in 1934. It is presently operated under the auspices of Stokely Hospitality Enterprises, supervised by General Managers Tim and Lisa Line.

Reservations for LeConte Lodge open on a specified date of the year prior, through a lottery system: registration begins for the following year on a specified date, and reservations are booked in the order in which they are received, often after grouling hours with the redial button! But, Team Green did it, and we're in for 2011!
