For nine consecutive days in November 2008,
four longtime friends undertook an ambitious
project that explored storytelling, the artistic
process, and the Nashville community. They
called it The Nashville 9. Assisted by a
grassroots collective of local crew and
musicians, the foursome worked in frenetic 24-
hour cycles to turn Nashvillians' freshly told
stories into written songs and scenes that
were immediately recorded and filmed. The
result after nine days: A nine-song album and
a nine-scene short film, both of which will
premiere on March 19 at the Belcourt Theatre
