EVENT DETAILS
Rock climb, hike and camp for two full days with Becknology Rock Climbing Guides and Team Green at one of the more challenging climbing sites in the Southeast, the Obed. This event is great for intermediate to advanced climbers who are comfortable with climbing a 5.10 and up. All materials provided including instruction, harness, and a group to cheer you up the rock. All you need to provide is your own food and beverages, camping equipment, back country parking permit ($5 at most stores in Slade), and anything else you may want during the trip.

Difficulty This is an intermediate climbing event. Belay experience is recommended/encouraged but not necessarily required. You can get a great deal on belay lessons and climbing courses at Climb Nashville with Team Green Indoor Rock Climbing, Intro and Advanced Classes.
Children Policy This event is open to 18 and up
Dog Policy Friendly dogs who have experience hiking over 6 miles and have camped overnight with strangers are welcome.
Refund Policy Refunds are subject to a 10% cancellation fee ($8). No refunds after September 26th.
TENTATIVE ITINERARY
Friday
12:30 p.m. - Meet at Carpool Location
3:05 p.m. - Arrive in Clear Creek
4:00 p.m. - Set up camp
Saturday
7:00 a.m. - Wake-up call and breakfast.
8:00 a.m. - Hike to the crag. Rock climbing all day. Bring lunch in your backpack.
4:00 p.m. - Clean up. Hike back to the campsite.
5:00 p.m. - Dinner and chill time at the campsite.
Sunday
7:30 a.m. - Wake-up call and breakfast.
8:30 a.m. - Hike to the crag. Rock Climbing through lunch.
2:30 p.m. - Hike back to the campsite. Clean up and hike back to the parking lot.

ABOUT THE OBED
The Obed's sandstone rock faces provide a challenging opportunity for experienced climbers, with several hundred climbing routes spanning through much of the park. Boulder climbing is also available along the Obed.
Clear Creek climbing area lays above the confluence of Clear Creek and The Obed River. From Point Buttress you can catch an incredible view of the rivers. If looking at the River from Point Buttress, everything to your right is North Clear, Everything to your left is South Clear, and everything under you is Middle Clear.
The Majority of the climbing here happens in South Clear at walls such as Image Wall, Solstice Cave, Stephen King Library, and The Balcony. These are almost exclusively Sport Climbing.
There are many good lines in North Clear as well, including the atypical trad line Alpine Dihedral (5.8)
